Harvest Ale is our celebration of the changing weather and the sowing of hops and barley that will be used in our upcoming brews. We usher in the fall with a classic English style Extra Special Bitter of the highest order. Deep ruby in color with an even deeper hop flavor… in fact, we throw fresh English hops into every brewing vessel, then dry hop after fermentation to impart a zesty kick. This beer has real hop character that mingles with fresh malted barley for an experience that will make you wish it were fall year ‘round.

"Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass
Appearance: It has a bright golden color with a slight chill haze and a small creamy white head. It fades to just a very thin covering that still makes some nice lace on the glass.
Smell: The aroma has a hop filled nose with piney/citrus notes and a hint of caramel and toasted grain.
Taste/Mouth feel: Its flavor has a good malty backbone with light toasted notes as well as a mild almost fruity sweetness. This is balanced by good bitterness from the hops which add some piney/citrus notes. In the finish I picked up more of a herbal tea like hop flavor that slowly fades off the tongue. It has a solid medium body with good carbonation and a slightly slick texture.
Notes: I wasn't expecting a ESB for a harvest beer but it was very enjoyable.

"Bottle pour is reminiscent of a pale lager. Aroma is of peanuts, hay, and musty yeast. From the appearance and aroma, I don't have high hopes. Low and behold, the taste is very nice. This is definitely dry hopped. Slightly acidic mouthfeel gives way to a nice caramal malt and sourdough bread taste and the hops are present in the aftertaste. I like this beer a good bit. Lower rate due to aroma and appearance."

"Pours with and orange-gold body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s bitter and hoppy with a piney note, a little grass and a touch of malt. Light to medium bodied, smooth and dry."

"Another good beer from Southern Tier. Fruity, citrus aroma with light grainy malt. Clear, bright, golden-yellow pour with a thick white head and cloudy lacing. Light and fresh on the palate, snappy and crisp with a nice bitter bite. Mellow and easy going, it's a real drinkable beer. Familiar flavor of pine with lemon and orange. Fresh hop taste with a mild malt backbone. Sort of has a dry wheat quality as well."
