Brewed with imported Beechwood Smoked Malt from Bamburg, Germany, this classic style offers an opportunity to taste beer the way it used to taste. Our Rauchbier is a throwback to the days when all malts were kilned with wood; it is medium bodied and smoky on the palate.

"09.29.05 GABF Dark amber. Very mild all around. Sour tinge before a dry finish. Wood smoke is nice and balanced with lightly oxidized malt sweetness."

"Poured a copper color with a small, off white head that left very light lacing on the glass. Aroma of spicy oak, caramel malts, nuts and smokey meat. Taste of caramel up front, burnt wood, smoked meats, and a touch of bittering in the finish."
