This is a full-bodied, unfiltered, unpasteurized, German style ale. It has a rich copper color, semi-sweet malty flavor and is balanced with a generous portion of fresh hops. Fermentation using a first class German altbier yeast also makes a distinct flavor contribution. The malty finish to this full-bodied ale is accented by a hoppy note that truly satisfies the discerning tongue.

"This is a natural, unfiltered altbier that pours a cloudy orangish-amber color with a medium bubbly white head. The nose is mild with sweet, fresh floral notes. Flavor is unexpectedly tart and lemony with an astringent/effervescent mouthfeel. Little malt presence in aroma, flavor or finish. Lacks the balance and cold-lagered smoothness of other Dusseldorf-style altbiers I've tried; not much true German character here. "
