A light refreshing bitter, pale amber in colour with distinct hoppy overtones. The subtle addition of Cornish honey will give your palate a buzzzzz! Commissioned by the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan near Mevagissey, Cornwall.

"Pale brown colour, a bit hazy. Huge beige frothy head. Honey, hops and malt in the aroma. Also some citric hints. Sweet citric flavour with honey peak in finish. A bit bitter aftertaste. Very refreshing beer. "

"Sampled off the hand-pump at The Royal Inn, Par, Cornwall.
My first exposure to the Skinner's line of beers. And while I at first had a hard time taking these particular beers all that seriously (each beer has a rather goofy looking cartoon mascot associated with each beer), once you get past all that and onto the beer itself, this is worthwhile offering.
A pretty tasty, pretty standard English Bitter, with the added twist of this being made with an infusion of honey from The Lost Gardens of Heligan down in Mevagissey. In other words this is basically the Betty Stogs Bitter with a dash or three of honey in the mix.
Personally, I had a hard time picking out the honey in this beer -- which is a good thing, in my book. Nicely balanced and quaffable, and in no way too sweet or cloying. Appealing soft bitterness through and through, that makes for a nice drop all-told....
Simple, but in no way simplistic. Just a good sessionable beer. Recommended.
