"Cask@The Cove. Golden colour, mediumsized bubblyish foamy head. Aroma is perfume, hops and some slight maltyness. Flavour is very much the same. Really nice, but lacks something in finish and aftertaste. "

"Bottle. Amber coloured with a medium sized white head. Aroma of malts, hops and fruit. Taste is well balanced malts and hops. Light to medium bodied. Good stuff; wish it had more alcohol in it."

"Sampled off the hand-pump at The Royal Inn, Par, Cornwall.
I had the Skinner's Heligan Honey prior to this beer -- a beer that I later learned is basically a simple variant of this well-regarded Bitter (Champion Best Bitter and Supreme Champion at various local beer festivals). And while I'm not sure that I personally would award this beer those very-same awards -- it tends to error on the side of simpliticy, IMHO -- I'd be crazy not to at least give this beer it's just due.
Very soft and pleasant -- no sharp edges with this one. Quite cozy and comofortable in the mouthfeel, giving this beer lots of room and leeway. Solid hop-profile, the popular combo of Northdown and Goldings, if I'm not mistaken. And the malt bill, gives this beer a soft and pliable base to do it's business.
While this smell's a little tame, it's still a very quick n' easy pint, that I can easily see making for a pleasant session bitter. Perhaps a little too "nice and easy", but no complaints here.

"A pale amber, mid-strength bitter with hoppy overtones in the aroma, taste, and finish. A fine Cornish ale. Makes a good apertif.
