"looks great, but it's an odd one. a dry stout, but not in the irish style, so what you end up with is a somewhat hoppy, but still thin, west coast style stout. not bad at all, but not anything special. like shakespeare stout's redheaded stepchild."

"Sierra nevada delivers again, thier porter used to be my favorite but it has some competiton from thier stout. Speaking of thier stout it pours a dark black body with adequate carbonation, a thick tan head that disappates fairly quick and it leaves good lace. Aroma of toasted malts and a slight hint of fruit. Flavor of chocolate hits first, then the toasted malts creep in with fruits present in the background. The mouthfeel is slightly bitter and it has a dry finish. Overall a pretty good stout, another good beer from sierra nevada."

"I love the stouts and porters so I find it hard to rate one down. This has the opague, black body. The head is frothy on pour but has little retention. The nose is a little too subtle but the flavor more than makes up for it with a nice mix of roasted malt, caramel, coffee and yes, some bittering."

"poured solid black with a thin tight khaki colored head that quickly dissapeared the aroma is chocolate and some faint coffe notes the flavor is rich in chocolate malts with a bready yeast and slight coffe undertone that stays withyou the mouthfeel is carbonated and smooth without the strong bite that comes with other stouts one of my favorites by far"

"A pitch black beer with a chocolate brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted bread and chocolate. The flavor is lovely: sweet malty with loads of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee."
