The Shipyard Ale is a non-traditional, full bodied American red ale. The warm coppery red color, combined with distinctive wheat malt flavors and hoppy characteristics, are perfect for the season. Winter Ale is made up of 5 different malts and 5 different hops, creating a complex flavor. Available November - March.

"Golden brown, very little head. Very strong peach presence in both aroma and flavor, with a bitter hoppy finish. Too darned sweet...really sweet. I'm not sure I could drink more than one of these."

"KCC Rnd 3. 12 oz. brown bottle. Poured with an inch thick cream colored head. Excellent lacing and decent head retention. Clear, bronze color. Aroma is nice, sweet, a little butterscotch is detected, and as it warms, the alcohol presence becomes more pronounced. The mouthfeel is slick and oily, adding to the body's perceived fullness. Not too bitter, not too sweet, it goes down like cough syrup. The aftertaste contains some off-flavors and is oddly bitter. A nice warming brew. "

"Copper coloured with a thick white head. Caramel, hazelnuts and spicy hops in aroma. Toffee, nuts and caramel in flavour. Later, the hoppy flavour come ( small citrus notes, spices and burnt leaves). Nutty finish. Thin body though."
