Late Red is a complex, richly-flavoured autumn hop ale. With an appropriately Autumnal auburn hue, this premium beer achieves a perfect balance between rich, dark malt flavours, and a strong, robust hoppiness. Available September to November inclusive. TASTING NOTES: A deep sweetness combining burnt notes with toffee and honey characterise this Autumn ale. The fresh water from the Brewery's Well balances the Cascade hops, specially grown in Kent, with their resinous note of Autumn leaves.

"Bottle came courtesy of a buddy from the UK. Thanks, Mark. Bottle pour is a very nice medium red with a foamy white head. Aroma is musty and sour...perhaps this shouldn't be bottled in a clear bottle. I don't have high hopes from the aroma. Yikes. Not my style of beer. I'll try to review to style. Mouthfeel is thin and acidic. The taste is very sweet, almost too sweet for my liking. Where are the hops? I think my bottle was bad. "

"Bottled. Reddish brown with foamy white head. Hoppy aroma with hints of caramel. Nice bitterish hoppy flavour with caramelly notes. Bitter ending. Typical Shepherd Neamish beer."

"caramel, caramel, caramel... right on the money for my sweet tooth ;) this beer has a deep red/brown color, a crispy, heavy head, a rich caramel and hoppy aroma. the taste is actually better than I'd expected AFTER testing the aroma, so quite the great surprise here - very warm and semi bitter taste - one to get back to... soon!"

"Bottle. Chestnut red coloured with large and foamy light brown head. Hoppy aroma with some background caramel. Good hoppy bitterness with caramel again in the taste. Medium bodied with a nice foamy mouthfeel. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Pretty good."
