A smooth. easy drinking beer, golden in colour, with a fresh hop aroma. dry malt arid hops in the mouth. The finish starts malty but becomes dry and hoppy.

"Casked. Golden colour with small white head. Aroma is bitter flowery hops along with some wood. Flavour is quite much the same, quite watery. Not very exciting. "

"Sampled cask-conditioned @ The Galleon Pub, Fowey, Cornwall.
While I can't say that I was ever all that wowed with Sharp's flagship Bitter (the Doom Bar Bitter), this beer, on the other hand, is mighty tasty -- especially in light of the miniscule alcohol content.
Much cleaner and tastier than it's big brother, and so much "brighter" in character, too. And while the name seems to almost imply that this is Sharp's "light" beer (i.e. a Cornish Coaster is a small boat used for going up and down the rivers and coastline, to meet-up and transfer the cargo of the sturdier fishing vessels coming in from the open ocean), it's no slouch, by any means.
Enough of a malt profile to give this something for your tongue to wrap itself around, while your senses enjoy the rather standard Cornish array of Challnger and Golding hops.
Perhaps a little "too" easy drinking and easy, since this isn't nearly as popular with the locals as the Doom Bar. But for my money, I thought this was pretty dandy -- the locals can leave it for me for the next time I'm in Cornwall... ;)
