"Pours murky brown with small head. The aroma is bready and floral with sweet citrus topnotes. Flavor is balanced and pleasant, highlighted by subtle, not overwhelming, holiday spice. Not so Christmassy as to knock your socks off, but still, a quite drinkable spiced ale. Medium bodied with significant warming affect. "

"This beer pours a deep golden brown with a thin white head that dissapates quickly. The aroma is spicy and sweet, with a sharp hops scent. It almost smells like candi sugar and cloves. The mouthfeel is great, medium heavy and really smooth, with light carbonation. The flavor is nice, you are first hit with the big spices, but then suprisingly there is a nice big malty taste to balance it. I found this a pleasant suprise, as I didn't expect the malts from the aroma. The alcohol is there, and they didn't try to cover it up in this one. The finish is dry, which suits the character of this beer pretty well. This is a nice offering from Schlafly, and for winter the alcohol warmth is great. As the beer warms a little, there is a sort of vanilla flavor that comes out, and the harshness of the spices turns down a couple notches."

"Smells like Christmas! Orange rind, sweet malt, cinnimon, cardamom, allspice/clove and others dance around a tiny hop punch, this is a winter warmer for sure. Pours a deep amber with very little head and lace. Low carbonation, warming in the mouth and on the swallow, pleasant but not memorable. Spicy and malty sweet in great balace with a touch of warming alcohol, who needs eggnog! This joins my OSA, O'Dell's Isolation and others in the cellar."
