"Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This Imperial Stout pours a deep black color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized tan foamy head The aroma is chocolate and coffee, touch of vanilla. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, roasted and coffee, touch of anise and vanilla. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. A fairly easy drinking, but flavorful Imperial Stout. The mouthfeel is full and round. The finish is clean and smooth. The aftertaste is slightly bitter and chocolate, perhaps a touch of alcohol. "

"Tasted at the Tap Room. Came to me in an Imperial pint glass with a very dark black color, carmel colored medium head. Aroma of dark chocolate, fig, raison, coffee and a slight touch of smoke. Flavor was wonderful with chocolate, dark fruit, touch of coffee. Alcohol very well hidden for 9%. Mouthfeel was medium to full. Finish was quite clean and smooth. I really enjoyed this one. "

"My first Imperial Stout! Whahoo, what a great style. This was just an assault of roastiness on all of your senses. Black as tar, reeked of roast and burnt malt, espresso beans, and giving way to chocolate and the hint of alcohol. Hops were just enough to balance in the mouth and gave very little in the nose. Thick mouthfeel, but not syrupy, drier for a big beer, but still very manageble to drink.
RERATE: 2005 Vinatage: Had this last night after dinner. Excellent stout, very smooth, velvety, even? without oat like creaminess, very nice. This half pint was quite chocolately and very very balanced. Almost unidentifiable hops, but thick and not overly roasty. Thanks, Stephen."

"Poured an opaque black color with a small, bubbly, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Roasted coffee beans, chocolate, and light cherry aroma. Milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, nuts, hops in the taste, and just a light amount of alcohol in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel."
