Belgian-style Grand Cru. Fruity, spicy aromas and flavors contribute to the complexity of this golden-colored Belgian ale. Medium body and effervescence contribute to a light, dry impression, despite its substantial strength and sweet, smooth finish.

"Sampled on draft at the Tap Room, STL. Pours clear orange-gold with a thin head. Ripe, dark fruits, banana, spices make up this beers complex aroma. Flavor is sweet, but not syrupy, and dominated by candi sugar and pepper. Good flavor, but perhaps a bit simple for this style. Full-bodied and moderately carbonated. An enjoyable beer."

"Pours a cloudy bronze color with a short, foamy head. Smells incredibly spicy and quite on-the-mark for a good Belgian copycat. Flavor is balanced, spicy, appropriately complex by style, and of course strong with alcohol. It's a little easier to drink than some strong ales because of a light body with effervescent carbonation."

"No lacing, orange color, very good spice presence, a little boozy, but not rediculous, little hops. Somewhat agressive, despite seeming lackluster at first. It was last year's festival beer, and it found its way into regular rotation...and that's a damn fine decision."
