"Sampled on tap at the Tap Room, STL. An incredible brown that must be experienced. Dark brown with a generous tan head. Aroma and flavor are dominated by coffee and bitter, dark chocolate. Caramel and some spicy, piney hops are also in the mix, but are in the background. Full-bodied, light to moderately carbonated with a dry, clean finish. Very close to porter in style. I LOVE this beer."

"Stellar! Absoultely the best brown ale I have ever encountered, period. Deep, dark brown with brown frothy head. Where to start..citrusy, tiny hint of pine (mint?), chocolate, coffee, caramel. Blows away every brown I've ever had that wasn't brewed in the basement...even then it may be number one...its that good."

"A beautiful spectacle to behold: porter-like darkness beneath a full frothy head. The aroma is balanced with citrucy hops atop a mild coffee base. The flavor contains a surprising amount of coffee, good thing I love the stuff. Very rich and full bodied with assertive hopping to boot. This is so much better than, say, Pete's Wicked, it's not even funny."
