When our Great Grandfather started brewing beer in 1875 in Germany, dark lagers were the most popular style in Munich. The rich malt aroma and glowing reddish-brown color of Saranac Dunkel comes from German two-row and Munich malt that is melded with Hersbucker and Saaz hops. You'll love the interaction between the malty sweet taste and the imported hops.

"Deep amber brown color with a medium thick head and little lace. Sweet slightly fuity aroma with a hint of alcohol and licorice. Sweet fruity flavor with a hint of caramel and a small touch of licorice, slightly hoppy finish. Medium bodied and surprisingly smooth."
