The Brown Ale style originated in the pubs of England, where beer drinkers desired a beer that was both flavorful and complex, but at the same time mild enough to be a session beer. The Santa Fe Brewing Company's interpretation of this style uses a combination of high mash temperature, soft water, and low-alpha acid hops to produce a product that is both true to the style and distinctly Santa Fe. Brewing jargon aside, Santa Fe Nut Brown Ale is an easy-drinking beer, mildly hopped, and always a favorite. Try a keg at your next party!

"Pours a slightly hazy dark redish brown with a sandy head and spotty lacing. Astringent slightly sour leathery aroma. Flavor tastes burnt and sour. Lightly roasted woody thin and sour. I hope this is not how it is supposd to be. A por showing for a style that I generally am forgiving of. Very soft carbonation and a smooth albiet thin palate"

"Pours very dark brown with short, fading head. The aroma is light with toasty malts and sulphuric topnotes. The flavor is weak: very light malt meet barely bitter hops. It has a watery, medium body with gentle carbonation. Unexciting and unoriginal."

"Thanks to Caddylac for setting up the trade to get this beer. Pours a hazy brown with a fizzy off white head. Almost sounded like pouring a Coke. Aroma is not impressive, hints of nuts and coffee. Mouthfeel is fizzy and thin. Flavor is slightly sweet and bland. Not a good brown ale, but at least I got a New Mexico beer."

"I'm one of eaglefan538's buddies who gets to cross off a state due to this beer. So, for that, I thank him. Now on to the beer. Let's put it this way, I couldn't tell if the aroma was coming from my beer or eaglefan538's black lab, who just came in from the wet, humid yard. After tasting the beer, I realized it was the beer, not the dog. I'll leave the flavor description to my pal below, but I'll just say that in addition to the horrid flavor, it was watery and thin (I guess thin wet dog is better than thick wet dog!)."
