"some roasting aromas ... looks like hour old coca cola ... some decent flavours in this dark lager, but a quite thin, i guess the hotter weather is made for this one ... smooth but needs more cowbell!"

"A dark almost black colour w/ reddish hues mixed throughout with very little head. The aroma is of toasted malts, brown sugar and plums. Burnt caramel with maple syrup drizzled on top, molasses and a bunch of spices thrown in the mix."

[3] Review by beercronic from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada who has tried this beer a couple times. (8/15/2007 2:05:49 AM)
"Poured out a massive brown cap that leaves a really dirty glass. The brew is dark brown. The aroma is fairly strong with rich, sweet malts slightly toasted, chocolate. Taste alternates from so-so to really good to dissapointing. Right now its a bit thin but there are still a good quantity of toasted malts, caramel, background hops. Mouthfeel is a bit rough. A bit chewy, touch watery. Malt finish with a small ammount of bitterness hiding underneath."

"Pretty nice brew all around, I was suprised. Pours a deep opaque black colour with a creamy tan top. Generous amount of nutty character in the aroma and a mouthfeel that is creamy and somewhat chocolatey."

"I liked it. I was really surprised. Handsome mahogany color with ruby tones when held to the light. Surprising sweet malty aroma. Taste was a little syrupy, but on the whole I thought it had a pretty complex molasses/malt/plum flavor to it. Nice change of pace, actually. Glad I bought a six-pack and not just a single."
