"The Friar IPA is really the only San Diego Brewing Company house ale that I ever even think about drinking -- and even then it's a very rare occurence (way too many better guest beers on tap!). Anyway, had this cask-conditioned a week ago, and it did put a spark of life into what I normally consider to be a rather hum-drum beer. The minimal carbonation and cool (not cold) inherent in most casks makes the hoppiness and aroma of this IPA become much more apparent. Not my first or second choice at the SD Brew Co, but not a bad third choice, either.
