Rauch Bier, a German smoked lager, is the first of its kind to be brewed in Australia. Rauch Bier originated in Bamberg, Germany over 300 years ago. A rich copper coloured lager with a dense caramel head and a sweet, smoked malt aroma & flavour. This beer is a unique balance of sweet toasty malt with smoked accents and a warming finish. It is made of the finest Munich malts, Beechwood smoked malt, Redoak smoked malt & subtle hopping. This is a largely forgotten beer style since 17th century. David first tasted this beer style in 1994 and noted it was subsequently identified in 1997 by Micheal Jackson (beer expert) to in fact be a beer style of its own. (5.5%)
