"Pours out a dark brown color with an off-white head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, a little cocoa and malty. Flavors are pretty much the same as the nose, with a bit more emphasis on the coffee angle. A decent brew. Nothing I would turn away."

"Pours a dark brown with very little head. The aroma is full of malts, cocoa and hazelnut, a touch of smoke. The flavor is sweet dark malts, slightly chewy, but definitely not a heavy beer."

"Thanks again to my brother who lives in Charleston, SC for this brew. The aroma is malty and somewhat sweet with some hints of chocolate or coffee with some slight bitter. The appearance is nice and a dark black but a nice, very dark burgundy to mahogany in color when held to the light with a smaller head on top that diminishes leaving nice lacing on the glass that is off-white in color. The mouthfeel is medium in body and not too full and is somewhat robust with good malty complexity and pretty good balance with a pallet that is smooth and maybe somewhat syrupy to some extent. The flavor is of sweet and roasted malts with chocolate as well as java and coffee beans present with even some nutty and creamy overtones with some slight bitter hoppiness in the aftertaste with a finish that is robust and thick with some bitter. Overall, this is a fine example of a porter and this is a very good brew; I liked this stuff very much. "
