A.J. Winter Ale is named for Al Johnson, letter carrier extraordinaire, who deliverd mail by ski in the late 1800s across the Colorado backcountry. Brewed exclusively for our hop-loving friends in Washington and Oregon, A.J. is slightly floral and spicy with esters. A generous dry-hopping of Sterling and Willamette hops gives this full-bodied ale a bright floral beginning, a smooth mouthfeel, and a belly-warming finish.

"Growler... Poured a hazy orange yellow color with a small off white head. Citrus and lightly spiced aroma. Mouthfeel was a bit weak, I think it may have been an old growler, the flavor was full of citrus, most notably tangerine and apricot. No alcohol at all. Very nice, and I would not have guessed this was a Belgian. I could not find much yeast in this one at all."
