A classic "English Pale Ale", deep amber in hue and generously hopped with fresh whole leaf hops. The malty overtones of this, our flagship brand are carefully balanced with British style finishing hops to create a very satisfying ale, indeed...

"Honey brown body with a ¼” cap that is tan in color. Nice hoppy aroma, bitter, maybe metallic, and a dark smelling malt presence that is very light. First sip seemed watery and flavorless. Flavour has a hoppy metallic start and a very bready finish. BURP!!!!! This a very burppy brew. Malts are biscuity and slightly sweet. Brew has a good hop malt balance however the hops are tasty and crisp but the malts are bready and boring. Good enough beer for just drinking but nothing special here. In the last half of my glass both aroma and flavour went up a point, the malts became more full and rich and went from being overly bready to more caramel. "

"Old Brewery Pale Ale is a really good blend of Canadian brewing and an English Pale Ale - I can see both in this quite obviously. So, not an English PA, more of a hybrid that is good in my books.
a light amber brew that is slightly hazy, pours out an ok sized tan head that is less than creamy in texture, leaves a respectable amount of random lacing. Bready, biscuity malts, maybe a hint of caramel too, the hops are muted a bit but some sweetness is found in the citrus. Seems slightly on the watery side but this is not a distraction. Just as the malts are forming an impression, the hops (which are not strong what so ever) step all over it. As this warms the malts hold on longer with biscuit and caramel but at the same time the hops gain a more defined flavor of citrus, leafy, very weak pine. Malt beginning, hop middle, malt finish. Light medium bodied, good standard PA after taste of lengthy bitterness. I really want to put this up against some average EPA's because I want to see how much of the style this beer has really retained. Very enjoyable, one of the only western Canadian versions of this style that do it justice."
