"different than all the others in this catergory (dbl)...makes it heavier, wheatier (is thata word) and maltier. not as refreshing as a hefe, but a better, more complex beer."

"2005 vintage: This was an extremely difficult brew to drink. A wet-paper nose with a rotted tropical fruit background. Appearance was a nice orange/goldish color with a very small white head and had a TON of floaties. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Flavors were, again, with the rotted tropical fruit and wet paper. I didn't get any semblance of a wheat, let alone a double wheat. I think this was past it's prime and then some. Too bad, because it looked like it had potential."

"Orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty and fruity, touch of banana and spices. A medium bodied double wheat. Malts are fruity and sweet. Touches of banana and clove. Smooth taste, nice balance. Touch of orange and citrus. Nice beer, a lighter bodied Christmas beer, but still has all the spirit of a heavier winter ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter."
