"another big sweet beer from Moylan's. A little on the maltier side, with a thick, soft mouthfeel, this is a great after dinner sipper. Ages well, and it's great on tap."

"22 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with a creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is VERY subdued - some caramel and cola with a little hoppy alcohol.
The flavor is sweet sugary caramel with a big abrasive tarrry alcoholic hop finish that lingers in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly watery.
Overall, this is an unbalanced mess. It mellows out as I drink though. I managed to finish the bomber."

"Pours a medium-dark orange brown
... very nice foam attributes, lacing is superb
... is quite a bold brew, lots of hops (danceable at its peak)
... "hey pussbag!" ... got from LS
... is so damn smooth (like me at the retirement home box social every 2nd tuesday, next to the rec center. never fly solo again)
... pleasing aroma's of prune, caramel, burnt sugar, so on
... tabc: suck it!
... a very nice american barleywine, not as big as some around but it gives you a good dose of hops while still being quite well balanced
... booyaa!! i love my day off!!"

"It'd been awhile since I last imbibed on Old Blarney. One of the really solid beers I've had for a few years now and apparently have just now gotten around to rate. A deep reddish/brown color with a small off-white head with some really nice sticky lacing. Aroma is nice hopped, light fruit notes (apples and pears juice) and sweet caramel malts are nicely combined. Aroma is caramel, hops, alcohol, and a touch of maple syrup. Outstanding barleywine that I'm glad to know I can get at any time. Excellent stuff."
