A pale (Helles in German), strong German lager brewed with 100% Organic malt and hops. A great big white head gives wat to a sweet maltly note which is quickly followed by the aroma of alcohol. A rich malty flavour with hints of current and oranges is found on the first sip. The hops have a gentle bitterness to balance the malt. The alcohol is not a dominate flavour, but you certainly feel it after a glass or two.

"An interesting beer. The beer is a transparent orange with a small head. The aroma was of sweet malt and some hops. The flavour was a combination of malt, yeast, and a nice hoppy finish."

"Came off tap a burnt orange in colour, transparent with little to no head. Aroma bad sign of things to come. Little to appeal there. Mouthfeel is flat and astrigent. It was explained to me this 'buttery' (not the good kind, as in texture) but rather the abrupt and distasteful buttery flavour is a result of diacetyl and pulling the beer from the yeast before they should. Whatever the case it was certainly noticeable and hurt the beers enjoyment. This is a bad example of bock. "

"Bottled 2004 edition. This bock is a clear, rich orange-amber color with a nice frothy, rocky cap that laces nicely. Aroma is glorious musty-herbal hallertaus over sweet bready malts...like a Dortmunder on steroids. The taste is very much like a strong Dortmunder..malty to the max ( not too sweet) for a big lager, great balance with herbal hops to stop cloying. Peppery mouth feel and then the finish starts to go dry with the light rye-like malts dropping off and the great blend of german hops thrill the tongue in the after taste leaving a musty woodsy impression...I love it!! This is a very good (and drinkable) blonde bock in the helles or more correctly, Dortmunder style. Great offering Mill Street"

"Mill Street Bock Bottle: Poured a clear dark yellow beer with nice foamy head with average retention. Aroma consists mainly of strong malt with some floral notes also noticeable. Taste is quite creamy (with some banana) with some nice strong malt and some bitterness at the end. Overall, this is very enjoyable but not the greatest example of the style."
