A porter brewed with: water, malt (pale, caracrystal, pale chocolate and chocolate), flaked oats, dark cassanade, hops (centennial and cascade), spices (star anise, cinnamon, clove and coriander seed) and ale yeast. The label for this years Christmas porter from Mikkeller is designed as a ’To From’ card. Fill in the card and put the bottle under the Christmas tree – the perfect Christmas gift from the lazy man/woman!! To From is a dark, light roasted porter spiced with Christmas spices. The sweetness from the malt, the light hop bitterness and the discreet amount of spices creates a beer so balanced that you can hear the angels sing.

"Bottle courtesy of goryshkewych: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a huge brown foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt notes with some spicy notes in there as well. Taste is a mix between some dry roasted notes similar to a dry stout with some easily discernable spices mix that could have been used in a strong Belgian ale with some weird yeast attenuation. Full body with a creamy texture and some good carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. This one does not fit into one style in particular but is enjoyable nonetheless. "

"Pours with a black body topped by a medium thick, brown head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet yet sour with a bitter hoppiness and some roast. Huh? That is just a wierd combination of flavors. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy with a dry finish."

"Bottle (750) from SL. The pour was pretty black, maybe some browness to it, head was tannish in color, very generous and airy in form, good Belgian-esque lacing. The aroma was chocolate, molasses, roast, spices (coriander and Christmas cake stuff). Flavor followed suit and there seemed to be a bitterness derived from a combination of the roast and spicing, keeping it from being anything sweet and sticky, yet not highly drinkable. Big airy carbonated mouthfeel combined with some acidity. Good but not great stuff."

"Almost opaque black with large and stable pale brown head. Grassy hops, coffee, licorice, pepper and nutmeg in the aroma with sweet notes of roasted malts. Full flavour of coffee, roasted malts, nutmeg, licorice, anise, dried cherries and milky chocolate. Medium to full body. Dryish hoppy and spicy finish of licorice, all-spice and grass. "
