Talon has a rich amber color and a full robust body. Talon has been aged for over a year and has a traditional warming malt flavor with a delightful hop finish.

"I wasn't sure what kind of quality I was going to get here but for the price it was a no brainer. Reddish-brown color with a nice initial tan head and some spotty lacing. The aroma is the best part of this beer: pine, citrus, caramel, and a bit candy-like. The flavors I got were a bit different than that, lots of sweet caramel, maple, some plums and figs with some spicy light dry hopping in the finish. The alcohol isn't crazy hot but it's certainly there and makes the beer too sticky and sweet especially when the beer is a bit underhopped. For the most part I enjoyed this, however a bomber of this isn't the easiest to finish. About halfway through I was tired of it and it was rough going from there. Great price though, I just recommend sharing the bomber with someone else. "

"Aroma is fairly strong and fruity, rather like a cider, with some yeasty hints. Color is a rich, transparent deep brown with a creamy tan head. Flavor is well-rounded and fruity with a touch of sweetness and a hoppy undertone, as well as hints of caramel and smoke. The alcohol bite is strong, as with all barleywines, but not vicious. Texture has a good edge to it, and this barleywine goes down the hatch with fire and sass."

"Caramel brown pour, no head or lacing. The aroma was hot alcohol and caramel. The flavor was similar with some brown sugar and a hint of vanilla with some mild odd flavored hopping or maybe it was a yeasty flavor. The alcohol was present and warming. Pretty good brew."

"An average barleywine. Poured a plain brown without much head and no lacing. Aroma was of brown sugar and something, where was the hop aroma. Flavor was brown sugar and a citrus?? hop in there, some pine as well. Expected more hops in this one.

"This beer poured a light burgandy color and was topped off by a small light khaki colored head that left very little lace. Aroma was rich dark fruits, candi sugar, alcohol and sweet malts. The mouthfeel was smooth, full bodied, oily, and rich. The flavor starts off very sweet with plum, fig, and sugar, as the beer continued to warm alcohol, and sweet malts take over the flavor with the dark fruits falling into the background. For the great price this is deffinetly worth picking up."
