George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

"typical porter aroma, which is nice, but a bit on the weak side. I'm a little distracted from the roasted aroma and lavor by a slight sour note, which doesn't quite fit the style. we tried side by side with another english porter (santas's butt) and liked this one better, although both were slightly disappointing. i'll stick with fullers!"

"As a fan of porters i was excited to try this style (london). It poured a deep mohagany, amber when held up to light, with a thick tan head. There wasnt much aroma to speak of. The flavor was overwhelming of alcohol i couldnt belive that it was only 6.5%, the other flavors were cherries, roasted malt, carmel and a little chocolate, but the alchol drowned them out. If it wasnt for that i would have rated it higher."

"Big bottle with a big porter. The body is a dark ruby tinged brown. The head light brown on pour. The settling is a light lacing. Nose is a roasted mocha with hints of fruit. The flavor matches with the notes of that roast coffee and chocolate and, a nuttiness, with complex hints of licorice. Flavors are very well-balanced. Medium bodied with a fair bit of carbonation."

"NorCal December '07 - A nice little porter from Meantime. I really dig their coffee porter, so I was geeked up to give this a go. Aroma is semi-sweet chocolate, softly roasted, bready and a touch of raisins. Appearance was a bit of a suprise, with a mahogany/cherrywood like pour and a wispyish head. Flavors were very mild with notes of roast, caramel, chocolate and spices. Overall not the greatest porter in the world, but drinkable and enjoyable. "

"Dark brown colour, brown head. Aroma is raosted malts, alcohol, slight leather and smoked wood. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, hops and roasted coffee. Pleasant mix. "
