"Very dark brown/mahogany beer, with a creme coloured massive frothy head, that settles down leaving nice lace. Im am quite surprised as the aroma is quite strong, usually I find the aroma of McMen. brews weak, can definatllypick up good strong aromas of smokiness and the dark malts underneath. The taste is at first of sweet heavy malts, then a definate smokiness envelopes the roof of the mouth and back of the tongue..its like lighly smoked wild salmon..or maybe troutt,Then its gone to be replced by a sharp hop bitter after taste. Very nice and exhilarating on the tongue a treat for the taste buds. Very nicelly done lighly smoked porter..one of the better McMenamins beers.
