"This brew was not on the menu and I had to specially ask for this one because they don't advertise this little gem of the Florida panhandle. This one concluded my visit to the Irish inspired McGuire's. Aroma is very sweet and malty with some fuggle hop present as well as some raisins and dark plum and some ripened fruit. Appearance is a cloudy burgundy to velvet-red with a medium-sized head on top that is light-tan in color and laces the glass. Mouthfeel is full and very robust with nice, chewy malty complexity with hop character with a palate that coats very well. Flavor is citrusy, malty, hoppy, raisiny and has an aftertaste that is of brown sugar and is truly exquisite. Overall, ove mightly ale here and a great addition to the line-up of McGuire's brews; definitely ask for this when you visit the brewpub/eatery in the Florida panhandle. "

"I had the cask version of this at the Atlanta Cask Ale festival. The aroma is full of alcohol and old fruit. This is a fairly malty barleywine. The hops are present but play second fiddle. Despite thiat, this is still a relatively light-bodied and drinkable beer."
