Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation. It begins and ends with a big hop bite that is itself forever balanced on the brink by a steady rhythm of malt. Dry-hopped for extra quenching in the face of heat and beat, it's an ideal accompaniment to chilling out, turning inward or sailing onward through the music of the night toward the dawn of the mind. It's the liquid way to say be here now lest you never come this way again.

"Pulled a bubbly gold with medium white head that lasted a good time. It was a nice combonation of hoppy and sweety. The hops came through stronger in the aroma with the taste having a bit of a sweet finish. I found this one much less harsh than some IPAs I quite enjoyed this one."

"It has a great hazy appearance with a golden honey color. The aroma is full of floral hops up front with malt and yeast notes in the background. Its flavor has an herbal and almost fruity hop character with a heavy supportive base of toasted malts and doughy yeast that adds a nice complexity. It has a silky light to medium body that's a little bit oily and has a fairly short dry finish. Wonderful.

"Sampled from a bottle. Pour is a very nice orange with a rather small head that dissipates quickly with little lacing. Citrus and pine dominate the aroma. Mouthfeel is dry. The taste is all hops, but not overpowering. This isn't Hop Devil, to be sure. Unfortunately the metallic funk that lingers with #9 is present here. This reminds me of mass produced swill. Good for Magic Hat, but not a standout IPA."

"Upfront grapefruit aroma with some additional citrus scented hops and sweet honey, very inviting. Copper pour with an orange tint, 1/4" head, and streaky lacing. This beer is filling with a nice smooth creaminess, not too bitter. The Hop bitterness fades to a dry sweetness. First and foremost the hops used in this brew are powerful, but they lend more to the flavor of the beer leaving behind any thought of an overpowering bitterness. I like I.P.A.'s that lean this way. Lively malt presence, fairly sweet and fruity with some resinous pine. This is the best offering yet from Magic Hat."

[5] Review by Mingo51 from Mingo Jct, OH, USA who has tried this beer once. (7/11/2007 2:16:42 AM)
"This beer poured with a old gold/burnt orange boddy topped off by a frothy off white head that left a fair amount of lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma is big and hoppy with some very nice piney and citrusy tones. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, mildly dry and very drinkable given the nearly 7% alcohol. The taste is bitter piney hops with some light flavors of grapefruit and lemon coming through as well, especially as the beer warmed."
