Our Malmesbury Whisky Mead (aka Tower of London Mead) is made in the traditional way from Lurgashall's renowned fermented honey and then fortified with Scotch Whisky to 20% alc/vol. {the precise blending ratio remains Lurgashall's well kept secret!.}
It is of light copper color; Aromas of cognac and armagnac {?}. mingle with the smell of honey. Wooden notes not immediately recognizable as whisky; Whisky notes on palate supported by the fairly dry mead base. Honey sweetness catches up, though, in the finish mixed with a myriad of aky, spirited flavors.

"Clear, pale gold. Perfectly still. A few floaties could be from the cork. The aroma is a strong wildflower honey, a bit cakey like finikia (Greek cakelike cookies soaked in honey). Slight peat smell under the aroma. Very sweet flavor, the Scotch only comes through in the aftertaste. Very reserved. I might prefer a slightly less sweet mead though. Probably great mulled."
