"ok, this one is cheating. it is a brown ale, but it's LC's Downtown Brown all spiced up for the holidays, giving it a better body, and heartier mouthfeel and aroma. gotta have atleast one every year."

"drank this one while i was slightly under the weather so my taste buds were quite a bit ruined, as well as the ability to smell. The pour was transparent dark brown with a small off white head. The mouthfeel was a little heavier than most of its style. Overall, i thought it was an excellent beer. the flavor that could taste was sweet chocolate and plum. The aroma that i attempted to woft towards my nostrils was sweet and resembled the smell of a fig."

"Bottle from Papago in May or June 07. Thought this was a rich porter or stout, much more character than a typical, even higher octane brown ale. Pour was brown, reddish, nice initial head with good retention, decent lacing. The aroma was rich chocolate, molasses, some roast. The flavor was roasted chocolate, molasses, licorice, definite spicey character in the finish, and a firm and lingering roasty light hop bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel was full for a brown ale, silky smooth, very nice stuff, although more like a porter, even a porter-baltic cross to me."

"Pours with a malty, toasty, mildy roasty and nutty aroma. Clear brown with a stand of eggshell foam. Full and soft carbonation and palate. Toasty and malty sweet, slightly spicy hops, balancing bitterness. A nice beer for keeping the frost off."

"Lost Coast Winterbraun Ale poured a deep brown colored body. The taste was spicy with minor notes of nuts, roasted coffee. This is a good seasonal brown ale. "
