A stronger version of our Lost and Found Abbey Ale brewed to a more contemplative alcohol content. Massive in every stretch of the brewing way possible this is the sort of beer that will remind a beer drinker who considers themselves a saint that even saints stray as sinners from time to time. Not for the faint of heart, this beer weighs in at a heavenly 11.5% ABV and is available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.

"NorCal Feb '08 - I had brought this beer back with my on a Summer '07 trip to SoCal and was hoping 6 months of age would do something different, than what I tasted during that trip. Suprisingly, it had. Flavor was really a full on assault of dark fruit, some toffee and molasses. The body was really chewy which I enjoyed. Aroma is dark fruit, yeast..maybe even a touch rummy. Quite easy to drink actually. Nice beer!"

"Pours with a dark red-brown body topped by a thin to medium thick, off-white head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with dark fruit and raison notes as well as some alcohol esters. Full bodied, sparkling and warming."

"Bottle shared by Slob. Deep murky brown color, off-white frothy head, decent retention and lacing. The aroma was rum-soaked raisins, spices (ginger-like), some yeast, other sweet dark fruits. Flavor was strong raisins (somewhat DFH raison d'etre like), brown sugar, spices (something ginger-like in it, a spice that I'm not very fond of), yeasty breadiness (particularly with warmer temperatures), a light smoke touch under everything. Mouthfeel was full, a bit creamy, only lightly carbonated. A nice one from LA, thanks, Bert!"

"Bottle courtesy of Naven: Poured a cloudy dark brown/burgundy color ale with a nice big light brown foamy head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of dry raisins and dry figs is very enjoyable Taste is a well balance mix between some sweet malt with nice dry raisins and figs characteristics with a subtle yeasty finish. Body is full with some great carbonation and no alcohol could be detected. I thought this was similar to Chimay blue or Achel extra bruin and presents a very nice level of complexity. It is definitely something I wish I could get my hand on more often."

"A murky brown appearance. The aroma consists of yams, brown sugar, and caramel. A lot of dark fruit flavors like plums and raisnis. I also taste some brown sugar, molasses, and chocolate. The alcohol stands out a little bit in this. A very nice Belgian Strong. Another one please!
