"A rust copper colored a ale with a off-white/cream colored head that sticks around. Has an aroma similar to an alt style beer from Germany, bitter hops with hints of caramel. Also tasted caramel, bitter hops and that special taste that makes altbier so unique."

"Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It had a deep copper color with visible carbonation and nice clarity. The head was thin, light tan in color and faded fast leaving spotty bubbles on top of the liquid. A small amount of lace was left on the glass.
Smell: The aroma had a sweet malty character with caramel notes and mild hops.
Taste/Mouth feel: On the tongue there is a thick sweet malt presence with sweet biscuit and caramel notes. The sweetness is balanced nicely by a strong herbal and leafy hops that seems to take over by the finish. The finish is slow and the flavor seems to stick on the tongue. It has a medium body with a creamy smooth texture and carbonation is active yet very mild.
Notes: It is a strong beer with bold flavor. Very well done!

"This was pleasantly smooth. Smells and tastes of delicious caramel malts. The carbonation is so soft, which makes this a dangerously quick beer drink considering the ABV and the fact that you don't taste any of that alcohol at all. A great treat that I will probably never find again."

[4] Review by hantran from New Fairfield, CT, USA who has tried this beer many times. (12/29/2006 10:30:45 PM)
"Mild hops nose; pine, orange peel, pepper, and carmel candy. Minimal to almost no head, whats there is beige and tightly knit. Leaving a very small but distinctive lave that withdraws downt he side of the glass like surf retreating from the beach, leaving only very small dots behind. All that sitting on top of a classically copper-colored body with a lot of transparency. Mouth feel is silky and suprsingly tingly in spite of the visual absense of carbonation. A full and balanced flavor starts piney hops and goes quickly to yeast and then toasty carmel malts with a significant grain presence. The finish is dry with alcohol predominating the aftertaste, and prehaps a bit of chemical in the aftertaste as well. I would rate this sticke altbeer a bit higher if the aftertaste was more pleasant."

"A very nice beer. Very thick and has a great taste. Goes down very smooth and the after taste is nice. The alcohol content is high and after two or three you are set. A very nice beer but I cant find it in California."
