A version of Belgium's "wild-fermented" wheat beer, which is the result of blending Lambic of "one summer" with old Lambic and chaptalized with candy sugar.
Faro is an intriguing balance of wineyness and sweetness. This was probably the beer being served in Breugel's paintings of Flemish Village Life.
Faro is a delicious accompaniment of a whole assortment of desserts.

"I always feel that when I get a 'small' bottle of beer that I'm being ripped off. Lindeman's Faro is one such example. The beer pours a clear reddish-brown with a soda-like head, probably due to it's champagny look and feel. The aroma is balanced between sweet malt, and sour cherries. The flavour on the other hand is destroyed by the champagny texture. Some sweet malts and sour fruityness is all. "

"Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poureda hazy orange color lambic with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of sweet notes courtesy of the candi sugar with some light sour traces and some light tart notes. Taste is also dominated by some sweet notes with light sour and tart notes. Light filtration with some great carbonation provide an easily enjoyable beer that would be even better in my backyard during a hot summer afternoon."

"250ml bottle
4.20% ABV
I tried this beer on February 29, 2008 at 'The Beer Bistro' in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark red with a thin white head. The aroma was fruity, with very little if any hints of malt or hops. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and very champagne like. The flavour also had a champagne feel, and was very sweet with some subtle sour hints to balance out the sweetness."

"This faro poured a light brown color from a 375ml bottle. Small to no head visible. Aroma is brown sugar ad citrus, very sweet. A medium to full bodied faro. Very sweet. Kind of honeyish with a touch of sour/tart fruit at the finish. Little to no carbonation as well. Sweetness seems to build as you progress. Lots of brown sugar abd honey. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet. "

"Being my first time with a Faro, how do you rate it? What's it supposed to taste/smell like? I haven't really a clue, so I will just rate on whether or not I liked it. Aroma was sweet, plastic, boozy, fake fruit, and caramel. Flavor is a nice sour/sweet combo with a sugary finish (heavy on the sugary side). Not bad. Don't know how it compares to something better or worse, so for now I will just consider it average."
