"Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is dark fruits, yeast and hops. Flavour is made out of pretty much the same. A bit glueish, but otherwise very nice brew. "

"One of the rarest of the Leffe, other than 9 degrees because its so new. Very unique and has a color that is a dark amber. Head is thick but fades away. Aroma is nice and spicy and the beer drinks very smooth and you enjoy sipping it slowly. Very nice"

"Bottle quotes a best by 12/2/08. Don't know if that's dd/mm or mm/dd.
Poured into an old Leffe chalice that I got in a gift pack.
Dense beige head, holds for a time, fades with drinking. No obvious carbonation.
Colour of russet, burnt orange, chestnut... appealing.
The nose is initially subtle, but picks up with the ambient temperature... fresh hops are first to come out, but then sweet candy, orange, a hint of raw steak. As it warms further, some malt becomes apparent.
While no obvious carbonation, the fluid expands in the mouth, releasing the dissolved CO2.
The flavour belies the nose... it's all spice. Cinnamon, musk, clove. You could marinade a pork fillet in this beer... What malt there is makes a late appearance, as the ale warms in the glass. There is a light hint of hop flavour at the finish, but by then the bitterness kicks in.
With this, there are notes of fennel/anise... this seems to carry into the mouthfeel, where the bitterness is more reminiscent of absinthe or campari.... more of a harsh digestive bitterness, than the more familiar hop bitterness.
An interesting drink, but I don't know exactly how to tackle it...."

"Sampled this one at the Pub St. Alexandre in Quebec City. Poured a deep amber colour with red highlights. Very beautiful. The head was medium with patchy coating. The aromas had apple scent with belgian yeast. Wow ! What a smooth brew for a dark strong Belgian beer. Apples in the start with dark fruits in the mild finish. Also mild bitterness with a smooth semi-dry aftertaste. Clean mouthfeel. Overall, loved this beer that is refreshing with extreme drinkability."

"Pours a clear very slightly carbonated dark burgundy colour. Aroma is rather strong mostly fruity/cherries but there are many other flavors there, that make hard for me to point them out. Mouthfeel is quite carbonated yet very smooth. Flavor is very much like the aroma but not as strong. This beer goes down quite easily and smoothly for it's alcohol content, BEWARE:) Not a bad session beer at all, hope to try it again sometime."
