Peculiar is a dark ale with a slightly sweet but dry palate.

"A trip to the East Coast of Canada isn't complete without the taste of a Granite beer. The Peculiar is one of my new favourites and can be had on tap in T.O. The beer is a dark reddish brown with very little head. The aroma is juicy fruits like plums and pears, with some hoppish scents. The flavour is mainly malt, backed by mild fruity sweetness. An excellent brew."

"very dark brown colour with a fine head and a perfect lacing; toasted and malty nose, solid malt-body, some sweetness and a touch of finishing bitternes; lot of character, long aftertaste"

"A somewhat peculiar ale yes - you can tell these guys at Granite know what they're doing. Peculiar ale had a fine quality that was present in its aroma, flavour, and especially mouthfeel. A thick and bold brew, I found one satisfying. Certainly a strong effort indeed. Im surprised more people havent caught on to this brewery. "
