"Bottle scrounged from trade, thanks Tom.
Pours a shimmering hazed honey-amber ale in the glass with a massive off-white puffy cap. Good retention and lacing from the cap.
Aroma are pungent: peach, grapefruit, tropical fruits, spices, pine caramel and some eartyness.
Big caramel malt spine up front is almost perfectly balanced by citrusy-pine hopping, middle has mild complexity - fruity-spicey-musty earthy from yeast. Finish is long, wet and goes from bready sweet fruitiness to increased bittering. Hides its alcohol completely.
A really decent big APA that is too drinkable."

"Sampled on 4/9/2010. This India Pale Ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is orange and floral hops, a touch of yeast. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity, estery and sweet. Lots or orange and orange rind flavors, which are nicely balanced by the yeasts. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round, Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter."

"A pretty powerful IIPA. Some slight underpinnings of triple-esque fruits and spice, but mostly hops sandblasting the tongue. The IPA portion of this beer practically destroys any attempt at Belgian-ness. A good beer, with a nice twist on the IIPA style. I still like McChouffe's triple IPA better."

"Thinking this is a nice bier, just bought a second sixer of this today. Bright golden, illuminating in the sun, it's a beautiful 73 outside. Fruity, likye bubblegum with hearty malt character, but no doubt, hoppy all the way. beautiful balanced and probably my favorite bier from Flying Dog yet!"

"Nice balance between a Belgian Ale and an IPA - pours a orange-amber with a moderate head and lots of nice lacing. Sweet floral and apricot hops aroma with some malts, grapefruit, ripe bananas, black pepper, bubble gum. Taste is a blend of peachy-floral hops with sweet bananas, grapefruit, sweet malts. An excellent beer with the best qualities of both a strong Belgian and an IPA - worth seeking out."
