"Horn dog pours a deep, murky root beer brown body that has many small floaters, the thin tan cap didnt leave hardly any lace. Aromas of dark sweet fruits like fig, plum, cherries and alcohol all showing up. Flavors of malts, bread, with slight fruit hints showing up, it was very sweet with an alcohol finish. Although it did have many flavors none stayed too long (no aftertaste), it wasnt as big or complex as other barleywines but that in itself isnt a bad thing. This might be a good 'starter' for folks trying this style for the first time. Overall i thought it was pretty good and worth a try, but i probably wont get it again."

"Smells OK. At first not as bad as many grain wines. Strong, thick alky coating mouthfeel without fizz. Should this be sold in the PLCB state store? A big beer without much carbonation. Finish could trigger my gag reflex. On style mah fah. s5L3f2t3o5"

"Aroma is rich and has hints of licorice, orange and chocolate; it lacks the alcohol nip that I have gotten from most barley wines. Color is a clear mahogany with a fairly thick and persistent yellowish-beige head. Flavor is mainly malty and has ribbons of burnt caramel, unsweetened chocolate and hops; alcohol bite is not very noticeable, which is a plus. Texture is very smooth, and aftertaste has equal amounts of sweetness and hoppy bitterness."

"Deep brown/amber color, some haze and a moderate head that settles to a pretty nice foamy ring on top. Aroma is sugary with alcohol, sweet malts and some oak. The flavor is sweet raisins and plums with maple sugar and honey with some alcohol noticeable. Finishes with some spice and hops. Not complex but good. For whatever reason, while not as complex, this reminds me a little of Dogfish Immort. Pretty easy drinking for a barleywine even as it warms. Not spectacular but I liked it. "

"This one poured a dark copper color with a weak head. It had a slightly sweet aroma with a hint of caramel. It had a sweet malty flavor with a good balance. Nice think mouthfeel. My favorite Barleywine so far."
