Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads.

"12oz bottle
12.9% ABV (as marked on bottle)
I tried this beer on November 21, 2008 at ‘The Beer Bistro’ in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a solid golden-brown with a thin light tan coloured head. The aroma was floral in nature with some sweet malt. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, creamily thick, with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, maple sugar, with a strong hop flavour. Unlike the 60min and 90min IPAs, this beer is way too sweet, having something of a barleywine feel to it.

"Well, I got my imperial pint ready so here it goes. The aroma first off is very citrusy and full of grapefruit as well as some pine and caramel and is very floral-like and of sweet malt and extremely hoppy and bitter. The appearance is a nice and crisp reddish to and nice rustic-orange with a medium-sized head on top that is off-white and diminishes to a light lacing that adheres to the glass; I can already tell this brew will become much more hoppy as it warms a bit. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and full of massive amounts of hoppy complexity balanced very well with sweet malt with a palate that is very dry but good and leaves the palate wanted more. The flavor is huge and full of pine syrup, floral accents, sweet malt as well as caramel and is extremely bitter with an aftertaste that is very dry and smooth as well as sharp with lingering feelings of bitter in the mouth with a finish that is massively hoppy and full of citrus and grapefruit as well as is sweet typical of IIPA's. Overall, what an incredibly hoppy/bitter beer here that weighs in big on the hoppy side but maintains very nice and smooth balance with the back end producing a nice and dry taste lingering after you have consumed the brew. Yet another good brew from a brewery that almost never lets me down when it comes to the "big" ones. "

" 12 oz bottle from trade deal.
Pours slightly cloudy and amber orange with a smallish but puffy cap which lasts to lace the glass well.
As it warms it gives off a pungent pine-citrus aroma with an underlying sweetness and light fusil alcohol-licorice tone.
Big syrupy mouth feel, big bodied and boozy, a citus-pine hop bomb but surprisingly tame for the IBUs and Plato...long metalic bready aftertaste....BIG warming!
Nothing like it.... Has to be experienced... it’s been described it as a hop liqueur..that’s it OK."

"Wow, tastey beer that will definately kick your ass. Poured a thick cloudy, creamy orange colour with a huge white head. Sticky resinous foam left behind. Aroma is wicked hoppy- mangoe, bananna, pine needles, ganj, and sticky wet hopsteaks. Taste is eye awakening, firm astringent hop-punch to the back of the mouth. Creamy all the way through, extremely citrusy fruits. I enjoyed every minute of it."

"Couldn't wait to try this one since the 90 minute is so good. However, besides the clear amber pour, the rest went downhill. Smells strongly of alcohol and taste is sickly sweet--over the top sweetness. I'm disappointed but I guess it should be expected that a beer this strong would have to be overpoweringly sweet to balance out the hops and malt."
