"The smell of this beer is incredible. Medium roasted malt and florals abound. The apperance is, however, severely lacking. The pour is thin and lifeless with zero head. Once in the glass, this brew resembles a Bock and the taste is not far from it. Throw in very little little malt and a few hops and there you have it. But Wait! There is a lingering aftertaste. Could this be the Voodoo? It is sweet, then sour. Then, it is sweet again. Voodoo lager is a very drinkable beer that won't dissappoint, except in your pocket book. Damn this stuff is expensive!"

"This was brewed for Dixie Brewing by Joseph Huber Brewing Co.
A subtle burnt aroma with strong notes of black strap molasses. Amber-brown pour with a thin, fizzy, light tan head and minimal streaks of lacing. Medium bodied and well carbonated. There's an empty finish with a metallic aftertaste. Flavors of mild coffee and nuts. Sweet and burnt earthy malt. Rather weak and thin, I wonder if the recipe has suffered due to being contract brewed."

"I do believe that this bottle was a pre-Katrina bottle, so it had some age on it. While I felt that it was more of a simply dark lager than a schwarzbier, I'll just go with the flow. Aroma was toffeeish, sour malt, with an underlying roast character. Appearance was cola in color, with nearly naught a head to see. Mouthfeel was light, clean. Flavor was more toffee, subtle hops and not really much else. I'll give this another go when I can obtain a fresher beer. "

"The appeal here is in the name and the picture on the bottle. It is a decent beer. A little harsh aftertaste. Average to me but Ive had it several times because of the cool bottle and name."
