"Dark as night pour with smallish head and a little lacing. Weak vinous aroma, oddly. Flavor was large amounts of milk chocolate, very little to no bitterness. Silky smooth...I enjoyed this...I might have enjoyed it more, but I think I just picked the wrong beer for my mood tonight. :("

"Argang 2004--is that a vintage? If it wasn't for the undercarbonated, too thin mouthfeel, this would have been a very enjoyable beer. It had a nice, mellow roasted-chocolate-coffee taste that rolled out in a very smooth manner. Looked beautiful--a deep, dark brown with just a little bit of head (yeah, that could have been more abundant, too). It had such a subtle, understated quality that really made it quite different from a lot of other stouts (...er, porters) that I have had. Very mellow and delicious...just doesn't feel "heavy" enough. I don't know if this is a typical Swedish porter or not, but it definitely a nice breather from the Stone Impys I've been drinking."

"Deep dark brown, nearly but not quite opaque, with a slight ruby tint where the light manages to peek through. Ample tannish-colored head that settles quickly, leaving minimal lacing. Aromas of toffee, brown sugar and molasses in the roasted malts. Mouthfeel is tingly and typical for this type, but seems a higher ABV than listed. Nice flavor, not quite as thickly complex as say, Black Boss, or the Okocim, and overall a lesser value, given its very high cost/pint. I had to try it, because I want to try all the Baltics available, but now that I have, I probably won't splurge for another, but rather will select the much lower priced Black Boss, Okocim, or even Utenos.
Afterthought P.S. My boggle is labeled as best before May 2014 (it doesnt indicate exactly what DAY in May), so I suspect it might have should have been (LOL what tense is that?) put up for a while yet. I'll get another boggle sometime when I have $5 to burn, and set it in the cellar to age til I'm 60-something. HeddyMuggz, remind me to drink it, OK?"

"This is one black beer! I am drinking it while I am writing this. The aroma is sweet and smells of coffee and hopps. The appearance is solid black that you cannot see through when held up to a light. There is hardly any head on this porter. The mouthfeel is creamy and light while the flavor is rich with coffee and hopps while being sweet, somehow. If you love hopps and coffee I'd highly recommend this beer."

"2004 Vintage - High marks all the way around for this little number. Aroma was anise, chocolate, and some molasses thrown in there. Appearance was dark reddish brown. Flavors were caramel, dark fruits like raisins and figs, chocolate all coming together as it is extremely smooth and well balanced. Outstanding!! "
