Ale based on British style ale. Malt emphasized and somewhat sweet, with more hop bittering than Capital's Doppelbocks.

"This American Strong Ale pours a medium amber color from a 12 oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and sweet, with a touch of hops. A medium bodied strong ale. The malts are caramel and sweet, lots of sweet dark fruit flavors. Hop are citrusy and floral. Kind of mild tasting and a little too sweet. Hides the alcohol very well. But it need more a of a flavor profile, either hops or malts to be an ASA. The Mouthfeel is full. The finish is clean and smooth. The aftertaste is slightly sweet. "

"I am kind of disappointed. I have never had a bad beer from Capital Brewery until now. It poured a nice cloudy golden color with a nice head. However, its aroma was thick with alcohol fumes and very little else. The flavor was of intense sweetness and a dominant alcohol flavor which trumped everything else. Noticed a little caramel in there somewhere."

"Bottled in late 2006, some age has helped improve the flavor of this strong ale. It now pours a cloudy light amber color with a very thin head that slides down the glass. There's a fruit medley in the wine-like nose. The flavors are reserved; mildly fruity, sweet and smooth with a quiet tangy-bitterness in the finish. This is not a bold, assertive ale. Rather it is mellow but rich and interestingly complex; a fine brew in the English tradition."
