"Fränken Bierausflug, Day#1, Brewery#4, Beer#7. Rather than the 'Export' moniker of the bottled version of this brew, vom Faß it is known as 'Hofmann Hofmannstropfen Dunkel'. A translucent dark brown with a creamy tan head. No nose to speak of, with a lively, spritzy mouthfeel. Dark roasted malt flavor with a firm hop bitterness. The finish is lively, too, with great interplay between the malt and the hops. Not exactly well-blended or well-balanced; rather, exhibiting bold character. "

"Bottled. Amber colour, small beige foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, some nuts, grass and slight sugaryness. Flavour is caramel malts, some fruits and slight metallic notes. Quite pleasant. Bready malts in finish as well as slight roasted notes. "
