"I don't really know who to thank for receiving this beer, but thanks. Aroma was sweet like a cheap sweet sherry, slightly raisiny, some dark chocolate, subtle undertone of coffee with cream. Appearance had a light black body with rootbeer brown edges. I tried to get a head to form but it just didn't want to . Mouthfeel was thin. Flavor is roasty, some chocoate, a touch of cream. Fairly blah. Nothing horrible, but nothing to run out and get again (since it's retired, I guess that's it). "

"Poured a very dark brown with thin head. Aroma was raisins cocoa and brandy. Flavor was much the same some roast and a sour finish that i am not sure was supposed to be there. Mouthfeel was thin. Although not bad, still not one of my favs from Bells

"Bottle courtesy nolankowal via trade. The pour and appearance is typical, although the usual slow developing generous head isn't quite there. The aroma was sweet brandy type aromas, raisins, cocoa and chocolate, slight roast. The flavor is sweet raisins, lightly bittered cocoa, roast, sweet milk chocolate, finishing with a sour punch, definitely a beer that has turned (w/o strong oxidation in this bottle, though), yet still quite interesting and tasty (only if you can dig JP and RR brews too, particularly reminiscent of the Madrugada). Dead on independent assessment led me to the exact same statement as my gifter below, nolankowal, quite foreign stout like about now. The mouthfeel is acidic and medium bodied, weak carbonation. Thanks for the opportunity on this one, John, clearly not what the brewer intended, yet oddly not bad in my opinon."

"Poured a dark brown color with a thin, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and dried fruits. Taste of chocolate, roast, light lactose, with some cherries, and some faint smoke in the background as well."

"Nice opaque balck with sluggish dark head about the color of chocolate milk. Fades fairly quickly. The aroma is still roasty like the others so far, but more chocolate is present in the this one than the other November Stouts. There"s also something that reminds me of charcoal. The flavor is actually subdued after the aroma, almost no bitterness, little of the roastiness. Ends with a short, sour finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and airy almost like you don"t have a full sip in your mouth. This would be a much better beer if the sourness were gone."
