"Wow! Pours a dark dark thick motor oil black colour with a medium sized brown head. Aroma is so wonderful- smokey, chocolate, hitns of coffee, and dark roasted malts. Taste is creamy, full and chewy on the palate. Leather, smoke, cigars, chocolate, and coffee flavors are abundant. An excellent, well balanced and incredibly tastey beer."

"I love a deep dark ale. The bells brews are relatively new to the South Florida and each one tried has been an esceptional beer. This one is no different. My only negative on this one was the too subtle aroma. But the taste is of an espresso with hint of caramelized chocolate. "

"A very memorable stout from Bell's, these guys have this style nailed down to near perfection. Abundant aroma of coffee with cream, milk chocolate, and loads of burnt roasted malts. Thick, dark, opaque pour leaving a dwindling heavy brown head and splotchy lacing. Very rich mouth feel, full bodied with a creamy smoothness that finishes nice and easy. Flavor is very nutty with lots of roasted malt. Burnt and lightly smoked with a pleasing bitterness. Chocolates, vanilla, and strong coffee round out this fine stout. Not quite as impressive as Kalamazoo, but still great."

"Pours black with a thin light tan head, decent retention with some sporadic lacing.. Strong aroma of creamy espresso, dark chocolate, charcoal, charcoal, and vanilla. Flavor starts vanilla, light cream, milk chocolate, molasses, some roasted/burnt coffee follows, with dark chocolate notes, almonds, and some toast. Finishes surprisingly dry considering the up front sweetness, with some spicy and roasty notes. "

"12 oz bottle, batch 7776 12/20/06. Pours a dark brown with a thin brown head that goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is grains, sweet lactic chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. It improves as it warms but is still kind of subdued - more roast and coffee, less grains.
The flavor is sweet and sugary rich chocolate, a little tart and slightly sour fruitiness, some smoke and nuttiness and raisins with a roasted coffee finish. The mouthfeel is full and creamy with a good amount of carbonation.
Overall, a very fine sweet stout. The roasted coffee balances well with the sweet notes."
