(6/17/2005 1:30:59 PM) "Y'know, Beav, I noticed the same thing. I had this on tap and thought it was excellent. From the 22 oz. bomber, though, it was a little lackluster. From the tap, it's deep mahogany in your pint glass. Smells delicious, tastes smoky and peaty, with a nice hops presence. For some reason, from the bottle, it's just more bland. (2/24/2005 1:22:26 AM) "The Peak One pours a dark black with mahongany highlights. It has a light brown head that quickly dissipated to a thin film and collar that laced the glass a little. The aroma is of roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is rather bland. I remember it being more flavorful on tap. It has a very watery mouthfeel. The flavor is some roasted malt initially with a bitter coffee-like finish. Like the Telemark IPA, this seems a lot different than the beer I had on tap at the brewery. At the brewery, I remember it being a very nice porter.
