The Kaiser once said, "Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world." If the Kaiser and his significant other had tipped this bottle, we'd all be "sprechenden Deutsch!" We took all that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest - gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent noble hops - then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest.

" This has been one of my least favorite Avery brewing company beers. It was too sweet. It poured a hazey copperish orange color. Try some of the avery beers they are good."

"THIs beer poured with a medium copper colored body topped off by a creamy light tan head that left patchy sheets of lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma was very sweet malts, some caramel and berry like fruitness. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and sticky. The flavor was a little overyly sweet for me an almost sugary sweetness last thoughout the beer overtop of some nice caramel malt, floral hoppyness, and faint dark fruit flavors."

"Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22oz bottle into an imperial pint glass.
Appearance: It has a copper or reddish amber color with a thin and creamy, light tan head. The body has good clarity and some visible carbonation. Its head fades out quickly leaving just a few stray bubbles on top.
Smell: The aroma has a spicy hop presence with lighter malty notes and a hint of grainy alcohol.
Taste/Mouth feel: Its flavor starts with its solid malty backbone that has a dark caramel sweetness. A grainy alcohol pops out and gives the beer some bite and its hop flavor is spicy and a little bit earthy. It finishes slowly with some bitterness from the hops. The palate has a slick heavy texture with mild carbonation.
Notes: The alcohol has a harsh unrefined quality to it, which holds down its drinkability. Overall it is still very interesting.

"Sampled from bottle. This VMO pours clear copper-red. Initially has a good head, but like many strong beers, it fades to a thin, yet lasting head. Rich, malty aroma. Very pleasant bread and caramel notes. Sweet flavor. Malt dominated with some peppery hop spice flavor too. Moderate alcohol presence. Very odd finish - the alcohol and hop herbal/spice and higher level of carbonation makes it seem dry. Full-bodied even with this disguise. Worth trying! "

"Pours amber with perfect clarity and small, fading head. Aroma is soft and malty with caramel topnotes. The flavor is as malty as any marzen, but there is much more balancing hoppiness than is customary. The result is highly drinkable and pleasant. Medium bodied and well carbonated."
