A superb porter, hearty & dark. This one is a staff favorite, made with pale, crystal, Munich, chocolate, and black malts. The darker malts give Coal its color and rich flavor. We use Target and Willamette hops to yield a very subtle hop flavor in this porter.

"A bitter type of porter but still good. A dark reddish brown colored medium bodied ale that had an off white colored head. A nice roasted malt aroma that was followed by the flavors of bitter hops and chocolate on the palate."

"Pours a deep mahogany-bronze-black with a nice tannish head leaving lots of lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of toasted coffee beans and malts, caramel and toffee and hops. Taste is black coffee with toffee and slightly bitter hops finish. "

"A nice dark beer. Pours almost black in color with a thick, dense, long lasting head. Slightly different hop note than I expect in a porter, almost a trace of fruitiness. Good rich malt flavor. Worth a try."

"Very nice. Almost black pour, with creamy looking head, nice lacing. Aroma was strong roast and some milky lactic aroma. Flavor had rich roastiness (almost burnt), coffee and a strong chocolate finish. Nice full, thick mouthfeel. Good porter!"
