"I was expecting something great from Allagash, they being one of the more highly respected brewers at Asheville's Brewgrass festival. Unfortunately, I found the beer to be more of a dark amber, light brown ale with little distinguishing character other than a slightly noticeable citric hoppiness."

"Sampled as part of the spring tasting at Hard Times Café. Light, cloudy, golden or copper-colored Brabant-style ale. Very light and pleasant herbal boquet. Toasty, malty flavor fills the palate. Candi sugar is evident in the flavor. Cellerable, because of the yeast, and possibly better with age. "

"Orange gold color. Large foamy head. Aroma is fruity. A medium to lighter bodied Belgian Ale. Malts are fruity and spicy. Very fine lively carbonation. A little cider like. It’s very fruity and yeasty, and surprisingly dry. This would make a very good session beer. Alcohol is only 5%, but it has a lots of some of the complex flavors that I would expect in a much higher alcohol ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. "

"Allagash summer ale was a very drinkable beer but lack character. It poured a reddish orange color with a small but decent head(little lacing). The taste was OK, but nothing special. It didn't really have the citrus flavor I'm used to in a summer ale. Overall a decent drinkable beer, but it's nothing to run out and get. "
